Julian Ramirez

We have heard from David Ramirez, son of Julian Ramirez , one of the USSA 34th Bomb Group veterans who with another veteran Al Israelson helped with the dedication of the memorial located in St Marys Churchyard. The film is still on the Mendlesham website and shows both Julian and Al at the Memorial. David reported the sad news that Al is no longer with us but also shared a film for Julian’s 90th Birthday last year ( he is now 91) . The film can be found at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8bILImAsGmM . It is well worth watching as it includes information about some of Julian’s memories, including when his plane was hit. It also includes a presentation of a birthday present and shock and laughter from his family when Julian calmly states that he accomplished more missions than they thought!
