A vibrant community
Mendlesham's WI was founded in 1926. 2026 is our centerary year
The aim of the WI is to provide women with friendship, the opportunity to learn new skills, to take part in a wide variety of activities and to campaign on issues that matter to them and their community.
Monthly meetings:
We meet on the third Tuesday of each month at 7.30pm (second Tuesday in December) in the Old School Room. We have a variety of speakers, competitions and activities.
Knit, Stitch & Yarn group.
We meet on the first Wednesday morning each month 10-12. £2.50 for the morning which includes coffee & cake! Bring your own project to work on or use the collective knowledge if you need help with a new craft.
Lunch Club
Meets usually the 3rd Friday in the month.
Workshops
We have several craft workshops during the year to encourage the development of new skills. Many of these skills are showcased in our annual Flower Show. We offer 3 bursaries each year to members to use on any course.
We are affiliated with Suffolk East Federation. Through the federation, there are many activities that can be accessed: craft workshops, photographic groups, walks etc.
Visitors are always welcome to our meetings, so come along and see that we are not all "Jam and Jerusalem".
